This blog was intended to be a safe place for sharing so we could all come to a better understanding of how great the issue of discrimination is on this campus and to recognize that these terrible recent incidents are not isolated, but rather a manifestation of the larger problem at Colgate. It seems as though some people have used this blog as a place to criticize fellow members of the community, which completely defeats the purpose. Sharing a hurtful experience is one thing, but making assumptions and attacking people is quite another. Now is the time for us to come together on these issues and this site is a place for us to help, not further hurt, one another. Please keep this spirit in mind when commenting on this blog and continue to strive to use the past to learn and build upon to make positive changes in our community.
